Best Student Conference Paper Awards 2017
Lily Zeng has been selected as the winner of the ISSRNC Best Student Conference Paper Award, for her paper titled, “Problematizing Ideas of ‘Purity’ and ‘Timelessness’ in the Conservation Narratives of Sacred Groves.” Zeng will present her paper as part of the panel “Consecrating and Conserving Landscapes” on Saturday, April 22, from 1:00-2:30 PM.
Nivedita Nath has been recognized as Honorable Mention in the competition, for her paper titled, “Sacred Space as the Practice of Ecological Ethics.” Nath will present her paper as part of the panel “Political Ecology: Nation, State, and Boundaries” on Sunday April 23, from 8:30-10:00 AM.
Zeng and Nath will be honored during the Banquet and Award Ceremony at the ISSRNC’s upcoming Mountains and Sacred Landscapes Conference (April 20-23, 2017 at the New School in New York City).
