2019 ISSRNC Conference – Keynote Speaker Marianne Lien
The ISSRNC is delighted to announce that Marianne Lien will deliver a keynote speech at our 2019 conference, Religion, Water, Climate: Changing Cultures and Landscapes in Cork, Ireland.
Marianne Lien is a professor in the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Oslo. Professor Lien’s work focuses on questions of consumption, production and marketing, with special focus on food and nutrition. She has published widely on issues related to economic anthropology, globalization, nature, domestication and aquaculture. Professor Lein’s book, Becoming Salmon: Aquaculture and the Domestication of a Fish (UC Press, 2015) has become a touchstone publication for animal studies.
