Description
This is the 2025 conference field-trip add on for the Santa Cruz Island (part of Channel Islands National Park) trip on Friday, June 27th. Lunch will be included, and additional food/ beverage will be available for purchase on the boat. This is an all-day field trip, so those who want to attend should plan to book accommodation through Friday night.
If you need to reserve more than 1 field trip spot you will need to add multiple “2025 Conference Filed Trip (Add-on)” items to your cart, one for each unique person going on the trip.
Known as Limuw (“in the sea”) by the Chumash people who inhabited the island for over 10,000 years, Santa Cruz is rich in cultural history and ecological diversity. The island is home to several endemic plant and animal species, including the Island Scrub Jay and the Island Fox. Field trip participants will have the opportunity to learn about the islands from an invited guest speaker and then will have the opportunity to explore the island independently or in small groups. There are many hiking trails on the island, as well as opportunities to participate in guided snorkeling or guided kayaking tours.
More details about the trip are available here.
